Precipitation Inspiration

The weather has been the talk of the day.
It seems that a snowstorm is on its way.
People are getting ready to hunker down.
Some are trying to get out of town.

The city and county are working together,
Which is a good method for this kind of weather.
Workers will log many overtime shifts.
The snowplows are ready to move the snowdrifts.

It would be wonderful if the weather folks are wrong.
But from the looks of things, the indicators are strong.
Ice on the power lines has been a concern.
The storm of ’82 gave us much to learn.

So units are ready to do all they can,
Using every method now known to man.
The ice on the trees, the sleet on the ground,
Make for safety concerns all around.

Listen to the weather news now and then,
For many changes seem to be coming in.
Watch yourselves if you must go out,
Employing caution as you travel about.

What is one way you hunker down during stormy forecasts?

  1. I've got knitting to do, and a Jodi Picoult book. And fingers crossed that we keep electricity...
