Do You Hear What I Hear?

Do You Hear What I Hear?
Lawnmowers stirring up the dusty grass,
Children running about, shouting,
Tired, hot, crying babies,
Birds chirping,
“Choo, choo” sounds of the zoo train,
Concession stand worker, “get your ice cold drinks here”,
Cars zooming by on the nearby highway.
Do You Hear What I Hear?
(sounds at the zoo, 1:40 p.m. on a very warm day)

What other sounds do you hear?

  1. Barbara---I like that you began and ended the poem with the same line. And I can see the dusty grass.
