  1. A favorite poet? Too many to mention. I love Adrienne Rich, Emily Dickinson, and Nikki Grimes. Langston Hughes and Robert Frost. John Prine. Joni Mitchell.

This is not just about poetry, so forgive me: "There's something about a blank page that makes me tingle. I love how smooth, and crisp, and clean it is. I love how this plain and perfect piece of paper seems to be just waiting for me to baptize it with ink, to put my own special mark on it, to make it mine." Nikki Grimes from "Jazmin's Notebook"

  3. I like Robert Frost,Barb. His house is in Vermont and I hope to go on a day trip there this summer. Let's see. There are so many additional poets I like that it's hard to name just one. Take care and I hope you have a nice night. Susan

  4. Hi Barb,
I love your Robert Frost quote about poetry.

One quote about poetry that I read in a college literature class that sticks with me is from Archibald MacLeish: "A poem shouldn't mean, but be."
