We Are Like Tea

I enjoy drinking tea. As I was preparing a cup, these thoughts came to mind.

Tea steeped in hot water will have a full, robust flavor.
The heat draws out the tea’s richness.
For a light flavor, tea may simmer for awhile.
As Christians, we are like tea.

In order for Christ’s fullness to be evident in our lives,
We will have to go through some heat.
It may be for a short time. (simmer)
It may be for a season. (steep)
Whatever the duration of time,
We will gain the aroma and flavor of Jesus.

Most of the events in my life have been cause for simmering.  Some recent life events have me in a steeping mode.
At this moment are you simmering or steeping?

  1. I think I've got some steeping going on right now. But like you, most of the things in my life have simmered.

  2. Barb, I love your picture, you radiate God's love. And girl, when I;m not simmering I am steeping, always got a fire under me, except when i hit the couch at 7:00 p.m.

  3. I like your analogy. I'm with Linda, there is a fire under me all the time. I'm simmering watching my son grow and mature 6 hours away. God is growing and stretching us all.
