Granddaughter's Observation

My granddaughter, Cameron, and I were having dinner at a favorite restaurant. We were sitting at a booth so she would have room to do homework. When she was ready to do her math assignment, I said I would work the problems too. I opened my bag and took out a pencil and notebook. Cameron pops up and says, "Grandmom, most grandmothers would take out their knitting, but no, you take out a pencil and paper." She knows I am a writer all the way. For some reason her tone of voice cracked me up. She sat there laughing at me laughing. It was a fun way to get some homework completed.
So to all the grandmothers, what would you take out of your bag?

  1. I admit, I do have a bag that I bring lots of places with me, and it DOES have knitting in it. I usually bring a book along as well. I like to knit or read whenever we go somewhere in the car, even if it is only a 30-minute drive.
